Mellanni Extra Deep Queen Sheets

My pillow top queen mattress is exactly why I ended up with these sheets. Regular sheets never seem to stay put on a taller mattress, and I got tired of waking up to a corner popping off and bunching under me. These fit the way a deep-pocket sheet set should, which is the main reason I recommend them in the first place.
The fabric is soft without feeling slick, and that matters more to me than the hotel-luxury language on the package. It has a smooth hand to it, it drapes nicely, and it does not feel stiff when you first pull it out of the wash. I also like that it does not feel overly heavy. Some sheets try so hard to sound premium that they end up feeling hot and fussy. These are more comfortable than that. On my bed, they just disappear into the background the way good sheets should.
Who this is for: anybody with a pillow top, a thick mattress, or a mattress topper that makes standard sheets too shallow. If you have fought with fitted sheets that ride up at the corners or slip loose by morning, this is the kind of set that finally solves that annoyance. I would also point this out to anyone who wants a softer sheet without spending all night thinking about the bedding itself. That is probably the best compliment I can give a set like this.
The one thing I would mention is that the extra-deep fit can feel a little generous if your mattress is not actually thick. That is not a problem on my bed, but I can see how someone with a thinner mattress might have more fabric than they want. It is a small tradeoff, and for me it is worth it because I would rather have a sheet that stays on than one that barely fits.
I use these on a queen pillow top, and I was glad to see that the corners stayed where they belonged after the first wash and after the next few, too. That is the kind of thing you notice fast with bedding. If it is going to slip, you know it almost right away. If it is going to hold up, you know that too. These held up in the simple way I wanted them to, with no fuss.
The finish is clean and the gray color is easy to live with. It does not shout for attention, which is fine by me. I like bedding that looks calm and stays that way after laundry day. A lot of sheets lose their nice feel once they have been washed and dried a few times, but these have kept the same comfortable texture I liked at the start.
If you have a deeper mattress and you are tired of replacing sheets that do not really fit, this is an easy set to like. It is comfortable, it stays in place, and it does the simple job I bought it for. That is usually enough for me when it comes to bedding, and in this case it really is enough.
